Job Description

Asset Living is a nationally recognized third-party property management firm established in 1986, known for its commitment to fostering thriving communities across the United States. With decades of experience, the company has evolved from a small property management business to a trusted leader in real estate management. Asset Living's extensive portfolio includes multifamily properties, single-family home rentals, affordable housing, build-to-rent communities, active adult living, and student housing. The company is driven by a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, emphasizing a workplace where every voice is heard, and individual growth is encouraged. Asset Living’s reputation is further solidified by accolades such as being named one of the nation’s Best and Brightest Places to Work and ranking in the NMHC top 50 professionals. Additionally, the company holds memberships and accreditations, including the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and Accredited Management Organization (AMO), underscoring its commitment to excellence and industry standards.

The Porter role at Asset Living is a vital position within the property management team, responsible for maintaining property upkeep through various maintenance activities. This full-time position supports corrective, preventative, routine, and cosmetic maintenance duties. Working closely under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager, the Porter plays an essential role in the make-ready process, ensuring that community areas, buildings, and units are clean, safe, and well-maintained. The position requires regular on-site attendance to handle trash removal, cleaning, landscaping, and repair tasks in interior and exterior community common areas. The Porter must respond promptly to resident and management requests, conduct daily inspections, and uphold safety standards in compliance with OSHA guidelines and Asset Living policies.

The role demands proactive involvement in hazard identification and correction, economic use of property resources, and adherence to a preventative maintenance schedule to minimize future repairs. The Porter also participates in unit inspections, reports community rule violations, and assists in teaching safe work practices. Outstanding customer service skills are essential to manage communications with residents effectively and to project a positive image of the community. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18 to $20 and includes comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life and accidental insurance, disability coverage, 401K with employer matching, paid sick days, company holidays, and opportunities for commission and performance bonuses. Asset Living is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment where teamwork, leadership, and professional development are highly valued. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dedicated team within a fast-growing, respected real estate management firm, contributing to vibrant living environments and community satisfaction.
