The role of Porter / Dishwasher at Grand Villa of Port Charlotte is a vital part of the kitchen and dining operations team. The Dishwasher’s responsibilities include collecting used dishes, plates, and utensils from dining and kitchen areas, loading and unloading dishwashing machines, and stacking washed items appropriately. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Successful completion of a background screening as required by Florida law
Job Qualifications
- Work experience as a dishwasher or on wait staff
- Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks as needed
- Attention to detail and sanitation rules
- Availability to work multiple shifts
Job Duties
- Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
- Load and unload dishwashing machines
- Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
- Set up workstations before meal prep begins
- Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours
- Maintain cleaning supplies stock and place orders when necessary
- Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical or performance issues
- Remove garbage regularly
- Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor
