The Porter role under the supervision of the Community Manager is integral to maintaining the physical integrity and aesthetic appeal of Trek Development Group's downtown residential properties. This position is multifaceted, focusing primarily on commercial cleaning, groundskeeping, and general maintenance, which contributes significantly to the overall curb appeal and operational functionality of the properties. The Porter acts as the frontline representative, providing exceptional customer service while executing daily tasks essential to property upkeep. This includes routine cleaning of buildings, common areas, and amenities, as well as addressing landscaping needs such as leaf removal, litter pickup, and minor repairs. The role demands strong multitasking skills and a commitment to quality results, ensuring that the environment remains welcoming and safe for all residents.

Additionally, the Porter assists with various maintenance requests, collaborates closely with onsite maintenance and management staff, and maintains accurate logs of completed work to guarantee transparency and accountability. Compliance with OSHA and workers’ compensation regulations is critical, and the Porter is expected to maintain a safe and effective working environment. Physical demands of the role include frequent movement across property sites, operating hand and power tools, and performing tasks in varying weather conditions. The position offers an hourly wage ranging from $15.00 to $20.00, reflecting the importance of experience and skill level. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of relevant housekeeping, groundskeeping, or general maintenance experience preferred
  • Ability to use hand tools and knowledge of power tools
  • Must communicate effectively at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to climb ladders and perform physical activities such as carrying equipment
  • Must comply with OSHA and workplace safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years housekeeping, groundskeeping, or general maintenance experience preferred
  • Ability to use hand tools such as hammer, saw, wrenches
  • Knowledge of power tools and motorized vehicular repair, maintenance and operations
  • Strong communication skills at all levels
  • Commitment to professional standards
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to climb ladders and carry equipment and supplies to maintenance project areas
  • Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other trade skills experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service through high quality groundskeeping, housekeeping, and communication
  • Maintain building accessibility and appearance, pick up litter, leaf removal and other debris
  • Perform janitorial duties including cleaning buildings, office, common area spaces, amenities, hallways, stairwells, and elevators
  • Complete a wide variety of maintenance and repairs and keep accurate logs of activities
  • Assist onsite maintenance and management staff with various maintenance requests
  • Maintain safe and effective workshop and workplace environment including compliance with OSHA and state workers compensation rules and regulations
  • Perform any additional duties or responsibilities assigned by appropriate supervisor
