The company manages a diverse portfolio of properties including multifamily, single-family home rentals, affordable housing, build-to-rent, active adult, and student housing divisions. Asset Living’s reputation is built on its commitment to innovation, collaboration, and excellence in service, making it a preferred partner for property management nationwide.
Asset Living prides itself on a culture that values diversity, teamwork, and continuous personal and professional growth. Their guiding philosophy, ‘Together We Lead, Together We Succeed’, reflects their commitment to empowering employees to lead by example, foster collaboration, and embrace opportunities for learning and development. The company encourages an inclusive environment where every voice is heard and every idea is valued, helping individuals to grow alongside the company. They are also members of The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and hold the Accredited Management Organization (AMO) designation, underscoring their dedication to professional standards and operational excellence.
The Porter role at Asset Living is a vital part of the property maintenance team. The Porter assists with various maintenance processes, including corrective, preventive, routine, and cosmetic maintenance to ensure that the community remains safe, attractive, and well-maintained. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and the Community Manager, the Porter plays a key role in the make-ready process for units and community spaces, ensuring properties meet the company’s operational standards.
This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20 to $23 per hour, commensurate with the applicant’s skills, experience, and certifications. In addition, Asset Living offers a comprehensive total rewards package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, accidental, and disability insurance; a 401(k) plan with employer matching; paid sick days; company holidays; and performance bonuses when applicable. This total compensation package highlights the company’s commitment to fostering employee well-being and long-term success.
The Porter is responsible for maintaining clean and safe community environments by managing grounds, buildings, breezeways, interior and exterior common areas, and responding promptly to service requests and work orders. The role involves routine inspections to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs and assisting with preventive maintenance programs aimed at extending the lifecycle of property assets while minimizing future repairs. The Porter must maintain a well-organized maintenance shop, follow safety standards including OSHA guidelines, and contribute to promoting a safe working environment.
Customer service is an essential aspect of the Porter position. The individual will interact with residents and management positively, ensuring efficient response to service requests and adherence to community policies and standards. The Porter helps project a favorable image of the property by upholding standards, enforcing policies as delegated, and ensuring consistent, respectful communication with residents.
Physically, the role requires significant mobility, including the ability to navigate uneven terrain, ascend and descend ladders and stairs, lift heavy objects of 100+ pounds, operate machinery and vehicles such as golf carts, and work in various weather conditions. Flexibility is essential, as the Porter may be required to work overtime, weekends, night shifts, and respond to on-call emergencies.
Working at Asset Living means joining a dynamic team dedicated to creating thriving communities and achieving excellence through collective effort. The Porter role is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in property maintenance, who possess strong work ethics, basic computer skills, knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. Asset Living offers a supportive environment where employees can grow professionally while making a tangible impact on the communities they serve.
