The Porter position at Avenue5 Residential plays a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of the physical environment across assigned properties. The role demands meticulous upkeep of the grounds, amenities, building exteriors, leasing offices, tour paths, and parking lots. With a focus on maximizing the property’s marketing appeal and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, the Porter is a key part of creating a welcoming and attractive community for residents and potential clients. The duties include trash removal, pressure washing building exteriors, assisting in preparing market-ready units, and responding to emergencies such as severe weather or other crises. The Porter must maintain a clean, professional appearance and interact courteously with all residents and visitors.

This is an hourly role offering a salary range of $17 to $18 per hour. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Ability to use general office equipment
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to cope with and defuse situations involving angry or difficult people
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must maintain professional appearance and comply with prescribed uniform policy
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license, clean driving record and current auto insurance
  • Must comply with all safety requirements
  • Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment
  • Ability to shovel snow, apply ice melt and operate a commercial snow blower
  • Passionate for meticulous curb appeal

Job Duties

  • Remove trash and other debris from office areas and property perimeter on a daily basis
  • Assist in the preparation of market ready units
  • Pressure wash exterior buildings, sidewalks, etc
  • Assist with property emergencies, such as snow removal and/or other inclement weather emergencies, fires, and floods
  • Clean available apartments and/or model homes and common areas of the community, as directed
  • Address property maintenance concerns related to inclement weather conditions
  • Promote customer satisfaction by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and curb appeal, and interact courteously and professionally with current and potential residents always
