Job Description
Asset Living is a distinguished third-party property management firm recognized nationwide for its dedication to fostering thriving communities. Founded in 1986, Asset Living has established decades of expertise in delivering exceptional value to its partners, evolving organically from a modest property management firm to one of the most trusted allies in real estate. The company manages a diverse and expansive portfolio encompassing multifamily housing, single-family rentals, affordable housing, build-to-rent communities, active adult living, and student housing developments across the United States. This expansive reach allows Asset Living to influence a broad spectrum of residential living environments, providing tailored management solutions that enhance community engagement and resident satisfaction.
As a fast-growing company, Asset Living prides itself on a workforce composed of talented individuals from diverse backgrounds. This diversity drives innovation, problem-solving, and results for both clients and communities. The company culture is deeply rooted in the motto, 'Together We Lead, Together We Succeed,' fostering an environment where collaboration, leadership by example, and continuous improvement are paramount. Employees at Asset Living are empowered to lead, share ideas, and cultivate personal and professional growth alongside the organization’s progression. The company values every voice and idea, creating an inclusive workplace culture that encourages development and celebrates a collective commitment to success.
Asset Living’s reputation has earned it recognition as one of the nation’s Best and Brightest Places to Work and placement in the NMHC top 50 professionals. The company is also an accredited member of The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and holds the distinction of being an Accredited Management Organization (AMO). These honored positions highlight Asset Living’s leadership, commitment to excellence, and integrity in all real estate endeavors. Prospective employees can expect a work environment that values growth, teamwork, and leadership as shared responsibilities.
The Porter role at Asset Living is a critical position focused on supporting the overall maintenance operations of residential properties. This role involves assisting in corrective, preventative, routine, and cosmetic maintenance to uphold the aesthetic and functionality standards of the communities managed by the company. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager, the Porter contributes significantly to the make-ready process for rental units ensuring properties meet operational objectives.
Porters at Asset Living must exhibit reliability in daily onsite attendance to maintain grounds, buildings, breezeways, and common areas through activities such as cleaning, trash removal, minor repairs, and responding efficiently to work orders. Safety and compliance are paramount, so Porters are tasked with inspecting the community for hazards and ensuring adherence to relevant policies including OSHA guidelines and fair housing laws.
This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in various environmental conditions, frequently involving moving, lifting over 100 pounds, climbing ladders, and performing repetitive motions. Porters also play an essential role in resident relations by delivering excellent customer service, enforcing community policies, and supporting a positive community image.
Asset Living offers a competitive compensation range from $22 to $24 per hour for this role. The comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, life, accidental, and disability insurance, a 401K plan with employer matching, commission and performance bonuses where applicable, paid sick days, and company holidays. Employment with Asset Living provides not only a job but also opportunities for growth within a reputable and supportive company that values both individual and collective success.
