Asset Living's expansive portfolio includes multifamily apartments, single-family home rentals, affordable housing, build-to-rent communities, active adult living, and student housing. Their broad range of property types highlights their versatility and dedication to providing exceptional property management services across various housing markets in the United States. Asset Living prides itself on its commitment to fostering vibrant, thriving communities and delivering outstanding value to its clients and residents.
The company is known for embracing diversity among its workforce, which contributes to its innovative solutions and effective results for clients and communities. Asset Living operates on the principle of "Together We Lead, Together We Succeed," empowering its employees to lead by example, work collaboratively, and continuously improve. This philosophy encourages an open environment where every voice is heard, ideas are respected, and employees are given growth opportunities aligned with the company’s expansion. Recognized as one of the nation’s Best and Brightest Places to Work and ranked among the NMHC top 50 professionals, Asset Living embodies a culture of excellence, trust, and shared leadership. The company holds membership in The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and maintains accreditation as an Accredited Management Organization (AMO). Joining Asset Living means becoming part of a team that values unity, diverse talents, and a consistent commitment to success.
The Porter position is an essential part of Asset Living’s operational team, providing critical support in property maintenance to uphold the quality and safety of the communities the company manages. Porters assist with various maintenance activities, including corrective, preventive, routine, and cosmetic repairs under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager. They play a vital role in the make-ready process, ensuring units and common areas meet operational standards for new residents.
This role demands daily on-site presence for cleaning, trash removal, upkeep of grounds and buildings, and general maintenance of the property’s common areas, both interior and exterior. The Porter responds promptly to work orders and requests from residents and management, addressing maintenance issues efficiently to maintain the community’s aesthetic and functional integrity. Regular inspections of grounds and buildings are part of the role to identify and mitigate safety hazards and potential liabilities.
The role also involves maintaining a well-organized maintenance shop and assisting with safety programs, including OSHA compliance. Porters contribute to community relations by exemplifying excellent customer service, enforcing property policies, and fostering a positive community image. Physical demands include moving about various terrains, handling heavy objects, operating machinery, and working in varying weather conditions. The position requires flexibility, including the willingness to work overtime, weekends, and participate in emergency on-call shifts.
Asset Living offers a competitive salary ranging from $20 to $21 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to hourly compensation, employees benefit from a comprehensive total rewards package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, accidental and disability insurance, 401K with employer matching, commission and performance bonuses, paid sick days, and company holidays. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to build a career with a reputable property management company that values teamwork, professional growth, and community impact.
