Job Description

Gerber Collision & Glass is one of the largest and most reputable collision repair companies in North America, boasting over $3 billion in sales and more than 1000 locations across the United States and Canada. With a workforce exceeding 10,000 dedicated team members, Gerber is deeply committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences defined by their mission to WOW Every Customer and Be the Best. The company prides itself on fostering a dynamic and inclusive workplace where employees are valued and encouraged to grow their careers while contributing to a culture of quality, safety, and excellence. By investing in the development of their people and maintaining a strong operational presence, Gerber continues to set industry standards in collision repair services.

The role of Porter at Gerber Collision & Glass is integral to the company's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. As a Porter, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that customer vehicles are meticulously cleaned before delivery and that the facility’s appearance meets the highest standards. This position is designed for individuals who take pride in attention to detail and are motivated to support a team-oriented environment. The Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness within both the shop and office facilities, managing daily housekeeping tasks such as emptying garbage, sweeping floors, and organizing tools and equipment.

In addition to facility maintenance, the Porter directly impacts the customer experience by pre-washing vehicles before repairs and performing thorough interior and exterior cleanups once repairs are complete. This ensures that every customer receives their vehicle in pristine condition. The role also requires safely transporting customer vehicles to sublet locations for further repairs when necessary. This position demands not only physical stamina to perform tasks like lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, and standing for extended periods, but also attributes like reliability, trustworthiness, and a positive attitude.

Gerber Collision & Glass offers a supportive and growth-oriented work environment with comprehensive benefits that empower team members to succeed professionally and personally. Employment as a Porter is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to start or advance their careers within a large, stable, and forward-thinking company. Compensation ranges from $18 to $25 per hour, commensurate with skill, education, and experience. Additionally, there are potential bonus opportunities linked to individual and business performance. Gerber Collision & Glass is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all its hiring practices.
