Job Requirements

high school diploma or equivalent
minimum 3 years of experience as a maintenance worker or porter
ability to operate cleaning equipment including vacuum cleaners and high speed buffers
basic physical ability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks
familiarity or experience working with elderly, disabled or formerly homeless populations preferred
effective communication skills
willingness to perform outdoor tasks such as snow shoveling and leaf raking

Job Qualifications

minimum 3 years maintenance or porter experience
experience in the operation of vacuum cleaner and high speed buffer
high school diploma, trade school or equivalent
experience working with elderly, disabled or formerly homeless population is a plus
basic knowledge of computer is a plus but not required

Job Duties

maintain the sidewalks including raking leaves and shoveling snow
sweeping, mopping, washing, dusting and vacuuming
sealing, waxing and buffing floors and hard surfaces
clean individual units when vacated to prepare for occupancy
sort and separate recyclables from other waste to comply with new york city regulations
assist the maintenance supervisor when assigned
conduct preventative maintenance inspections and routine upkeep on building systems
perform other related duties as assigned
