The Country Club of Virginia is one of America's oldest and most prestigious private, member-owned clubs, located in Richmond, Virginia. Established in 1908, CCV ranks as #7 on the Platinum Clubs of America list, a testament to its commitment to excellence among thousands of recognized clubs nationwide. As one of the largest full-service country clubs in the country, CCV serves a vibrant community of over 8,000 members across its expansive 1,111-acre property. The club features two superb clubhouses located seven miles apart, 54 holes of golf, 24 tennis courts, five squash courts, three platform tennis courts, a vast 100,000 square foot fitness complex, five pools, five dining outlets, three snack bars, and multiple special event venues. This comprehensive array of amenities supports a dynamic environment that caters to a wide variety of recreational and social pursuits.
The club operates with a staff of over 800 employees during its active season, sustaining a large and complex operation with an annual budget exceeding $52 million. The Country Club of Virginia is deeply committed to maintaining the highest standards of service and hospitality, ensuring that every member and guest enjoys an exceptional experience while participating in the club’s activities. This commitment extends to the employment environment, where teamwork, professionalism, and member satisfaction are prioritized.
The Seasonal Poolside Cook role at CCV offers an excellent entry point for individuals passionate about food and hospitality who are seeking their first experience in a back-of-house position. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy delivering excellent guest service. As a Seasonal Poolside Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving light café fare, snacks, and beverages in a lively poolside setting. The position typically involves working various shifts across the club's five pools, with schedules that span full-time or part-time seasonal work, averaging between 20 to 40 hours per week during the active season from May through September. Shifts are scheduled primarily from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with weekend availability being a mandatory part of the role due to the club’s daily operations.
Working in this role means engaging in a collaborative atmosphere where pool staff work closely together to maintain a positive and enjoyable summer environment for members. Responsibilities include greeting members and guests with professionalism and warmth, accurately taking orders using a POS system, ensuring cleanliness of the café and storage areas, restocking inventory, and adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation standards. The role calls for individuals who can multi-task efficiently and remain composed during high-volume service periods. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are essential to fulfill shift requirements effectively.
The Country Club of Virginia conducts post-offer drug tests and criminal background screenings, reflecting their dedication to providing a safe and secure workplace. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable hospitality experience in one of the nation's top private clubs while contributing to a positive member experience in a vibrant, outdoor poolside setting.
