Job Description

The Country Club of Virginia (CCV), established in 1908, is one of America's oldest and most distinguished private, member-owned clubs. Located in Richmond, Virginia, CCV is ranked number 7 on the prestigious Platinum Clubs of America list. With over 8,000 members spread across 1,111 acres, CCV offers an exceptional range of facilities and services including two clubhouses located seven miles apart, 54 holes of golf, 24 tennis courts, five pools, five dining outlets and three snack bars, a 100,000-square-foot fitness complex, and multiple event venues. The club prides itself on its commitment to creating a vibrant, welcoming environment that blends tradition with modern amenities to cater to a diverse membership base. During peak season, CCV employs more than 800 staff members and operates with a budget exceeding 52 million dollars, emphasizing their dedication to excellence and operational efficiency.

The Club is currently seeking several Poolside Café Bartenders for the summer season, a part-time, seasonal role offering approximately 25 hours per week from Memorial Day to Labor Day (May 31 - September 6). This role suits individuals passionate about service and knowledgeable about beer, wine, and spirits. Poolside Café Bartenders at CCV play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional member experience by preparing and serving drinks according to established recipes with genuine hospitality. Working primarily from the indoor Poolside Café serving three of the club's five pools, bartenders cater to a family-friendly clientele offering everything from quick grab-and-go menu items to freshly prepared sandwiches, salads, and casual favorites. The position involves managing inventory levels, adhering strictly to ABC regulations, and maintaining proper sanitation standards.

The working environment at the Poolside Café is active, energetic, and service-focused, especially during peak summer hours. Bartenders must thrive in a dynamic setting where multitasking, teamwork, and positive energy are essential to success. The adult deck features a full-service bar providing cocktails, beer, and wine in a relaxed atmosphere tailored to members 18 years and older. Shifts vary between opening (10:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.) and closing (3:30 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.) hours, including weekend work, which is mandatory to accommodate pool hours that run seven days a week. CCV emphasizes a culture of clear communication, respect, and opportunity. Team members benefit from free employee meals while working, referral incentives, educational sessions focused on food and beverage knowledge, and a values-driven workplace known for celebrating success through recognition initiatives like the High-Five program, which rewards employees who exemplify the club's core values. Recognized as a top workplace in Richmond (2021, 2023-2025), CCV offers an unparalleled environment for individuals seeking to develop their careers in hospitality and service.
