Job Description
St. Regis Hotels & Resorts is a distinguished name in the luxury hospitality sector, known for its timeless glamour and vanguard spirit. With over 50 luxury properties located in prime addresses around the globe, St. Regis epitomizes bespoke, anticipatory service paired with classic sophistication and modern sensibility. The brand's legacy began with the iconic debut of The St. Regis hotel in New York by John Jacob Astor IV at the dawn of the twentieth century. Since then, St. Regis has maintained its unmatched commitment to delivering exquisite and personalized guest experiences. The hallmark of the brand lies in its signature Butler Service and a dedicated team of gracious hosts who consistently deliver flawless service that delights and surprises guests. By joining St. Regis, employees become part of Marriott International's esteemed portfolio of brands, gaining access to a global network, career development opportunities, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion that celebrates unique backgrounds and talents.
The role being offered is a Food and Beverage Server position, which plays an essential part in orchestrating the guest experience by serving food courses and alcoholic beverages with care and professionalism. The Food and Beverage Server sets tables according to event types and service standards, answers guests’ menu-related questions, and communicates effectively with the kitchen regarding an array of guest requirements including allergies, dietary needs, special requests, and order adjustments. Payment processes, order recordings using the MICROS system, and ensuring the overall satisfaction of guests during their dining experience are critical aspects of the role. The job also entails meticulous maintenance of cleanliness of work areas, china, and glassware throughout the shift and performing closing duties such as restocking and shutting down the workspace.
This position requires adherence to company safety, security policies, and standards, including reporting unsafe conditions and completing required safety training and certifications. Personal presentation and professionalism are highly emphasized, coupled with a strict commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding company assets. Servers are expected to welcome guests warmly, anticipate and promptly address service needs thoughtfully, accommodate individuals with disabilities, and express genuine gratitude. The role demands excellent communication skills, teamwork orientation, responsiveness to coworkers’ concerns, and an unwavering commitment to maintaining quality standards.
Physically, the Food and Beverage Server must be able to stand, sit, or walk throughout an entire shift and handle physical demands such as lifting and carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance. The nature of the work requires flexibility in movement including bending, twisting, stooping, reaching overhead or below the knees, and navigating varied surfaces including stairs and ramps. Performing other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors is expected.
Educational qualifications for this role include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, alongside at least one year of related work experience. While supervisory experience and licenses are not required, the candidate should demonstrate a professional attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment. Marriott International and St. Regis are equal opportunity employers committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful workspace free of discrimination based on protected characteristics such as disability or veteran status. Qualified applicants with criminal histories are considered fairly in compliance with relevant laws.
