This job opportunity is for a full-time, seasonal Food and Beverage server position located at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa. The role is classified as non-management and provides an hourly wage of $17.75, in addition to being tip eligible. As a Food and Beverage server, you will play a vital role in the resort's hospitality operations by engaging directly with guests to ensure their dining experience exceeds expectations. Responsibilities include warmly welcoming guests, promptly attending to tables, and offering knowledgeable menu recommendations to assist guests with any inquiries or special requests. You will be trained to use the MICROS point of sale system for accurate order and transaction processing. Maintaining impeccable table settings and a professional demeanor are essential to this role. You will also ensure guest satisfaction by actively seeking feedback during the meal and addressing any concerns to provide memorable service. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and Marriott provides safety training and certification prior to employment.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of related work experience
  • Experience as a waiter considered a strong advantage
  • Good conversational skills and teamwork orientation
  • Positive attitude and outgoing personality

Job Duties

  • Welcome guests and attend to tables promptly
  • Serve food and beverages to guests and provide recommendations as needed
  • Share menu knowledge to assist guests with questions and special requests
  • Accurately and timely record transactions using the MICROS system
  • Approach guests to ensure satisfaction with each dish and beverage
  • Clean tables, complete closing tasks, and replenish dishes and other supplies
