The role of a PoolServer at Marriott Vacations Worldwide is a vital position focused on providing excellent guest service in the resort pool and recreation areas. PoolServers play an essential role in enhancing the guest experience by assisting with food and beverage service, ensuring guests’ dietary needs and special requests are communicated to the kitchen, and maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout their work area. This position requires a friendly, proactive individual who can anticipate guest needs, maintain open communication, and deliver personalized, attentive service. A typical day includes maintaining cleanliness with clean-as-you-go procedures, serving meals and beverages appropriately, following alcohol service guidelines, and handling payment processing in accordance with company policies.

PoolServers at MVW work outdoors, engaging with guests in a timely and professional manner, answering questions about the menu, and consistently ensuring guest satisfaction with each course and beverage served. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds, and involves working various shifts, including holidays and weekends. Job Requirements

  • Available to work various shifts including holidays and weekend days
  • Able to reach overhead and below knees while bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Able to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Must pass background and drug screening as per company policy
  • Committed to providing excellent customer service
  • Willing to adhere to company policies and safety procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous hospitality or food service experience preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately
  • Comfortable working outdoors and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Maintains cleanliness of work areas throughout the day following clean-as-you-go procedures
  • Communicates additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
  • Maintains an open line of communication with guests to ensure all needs are accommodated
  • Follows appropriate procedures for serving alcohol
  • Works outside on the resort pool and recreation areas
  • Checks in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage
  • Answers questions on menu selections and liaises with kitchen staff for clarifications
  • Processes all payment methods in accordance with accounting procedures and policies
  • Welcomes and greets guests, anticipating and addressing their needs
  • Interacts professionally and promptly with colleagues and guests
  • Contributes to team goals
  • Always follows company policies and safety procedures
