Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Six months to one year previous serving experience preferred
- Prior hospitality experience preferred
- Must obtain government required licenses or certificates such as Washington Health Card Permit, Oregon Liquor Service Permit, Alcohol Service Permit
- CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and frequently carry up to 25 lbs
- Ability to walk, stand, reach, handle, feel, talk, hear, and see
- Compliance with drug-free workplace policies and pre-employment substance abuse testing
Job Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
- Knowledge of appropriate table settings, service ware and menu items
- Ability to read, write and speak English sufficiently to understand menus, special promotions, record and communicate orders
- Ability to remember, recite and promote variety of menu items
- Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 40 lbs
- Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment
Job Duties
- Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness
- Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain specials and restaurant promotions
- Record order details accurately and confirm order with guests
- Input order into Point of Sale system to inform the kitchen
- Retrieve and deliver orders with appropriate condiments while complying with liquor regulations
- Replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction
- Market and serve dessert items or specialty coffees upon request
- Ascertain guest satisfaction and process checks according to hotel procedures
- Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
- Assist bus help in clearing and resetting tables
- Complete assigned side work including replenishing condiments and restocking side stands
- Perform other duties such as answering telephones, taking room service orders, handling special guest requests, and seating guests according to guidelines
- Attend required meetings
