The Pool Bartender position at IronOaks at Sun Lakes offers a unique opportunity to be part of a vibrant community-focused team. This is a part-time role with pay starting at $15.15 per hour, plus tips. The Pool Bartender is responsible for ensuring that the pool area remains safe and enjoyable for all members and guests while delivering exceptional food and beverage (F&B) services. The Pool Bartender prepares and serves a wide range of beverages and food items to guests who may be seated at the pool bar, the restaurant, or on the patio. Reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Manager, this role is integral to maintaining the high hospitality standards that IronOaks is known for.

In this role, the Pool Bartender will monitor pool users to ensure adherence to safety policies and intervene in any situations that may arise, thereby promoting a secure environment. Alongside safety duties, the bartender will take beverage orders and make recommendations based on guests' preferences, deliver drinks efficiently, and manage cash and card transactions with accuracy. This position demands a proactive approach to hospitality, requiring the ability to create a welcoming setting, answer guest inquiries knowledgeably about the resort's offerings, and provide consistently superior service. The Pool Bartender will also be involved in inventory management, placing orders for liquors and supplies while keeping within allocated budgets to maintain quality and affordability.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • One year bartending experience preferred
  • Must meet state and federal minimum age requirement for serving alcohol
  • Current Food Handlers Card and TIPS Certification required
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma preferred

Job Duties

  • Create a welcoming atmosphere and provide excellent hospitality
  • Take a proactive approach to ensure a consistent set of superior standards of food service and quality
  • Greet and serve guests in an energetic and friendly fashion
  • Check identification to assure customers are of legal age to purchase alcohol
  • Notice and report potential safety issues or customer concerns to a supervisor
  • Respond to incoming food and beverage phone calls
  • Mix drinks and serve wine and beer
  • handle cash and card transactions
  • balance the cash register
  • Take inventory and order liquors and supplies
  • maintain clean work area and bar according to quality and safety procedures
  • Oversee and assist in all Food & Beverage functions, including corporate parties and weddings
  • Prepare beverages, supplies, and setups for banquets and other functions
  • Attend culinary exhibitions and educational seminars as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned
