The Pool Bartender role at Mission Hills Country Club is a key position within the Food and Beverage department, reporting directly to the Food and Beverage Manager. This is a seasonal, hourly position offering a competitive salary range of $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, ideal for individuals passionate about delivering superior customer service in a dynamic and high-end environment. The pool bartender is responsible for providing an exceptional beverage experience specifically tailored for the members and guests of the club. This includes preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, such as cocktails, wines, beers, and specialty drinks, ensuring each guest enjoys a personalized and memorable experience.
The individual in this role will maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring it is well-stocked and compliant with all safety and sanitation regulations. Engaging with members to offer beverage recommendations aligned with their preferences and the club’s offerings is an important aspect of the position, requiring excellent product knowledge and customer interaction skills. The bartender will use the club's point-of-sale system to process all transactions accurately while managing alcohol consumption responsibly in full compliance with club policies and legal requirements. Additionally, the bartender will contribute to inventory management by assisting with stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed, supporting smooth operation of the bar.
This position also involves supporting club events and private functions by preparing and serving beverages as required, necessitating collaboration with kitchen and waitstaff to ensure seamless service delivery. Adherence to all policies concerning responsible alcohol service and health codes is mandatory. The role also requires performing opening and closing procedures to ensure operational readiness and proper closing. Candidates should be capable of standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous bartending experience preferred
- Knowledge of various cocktail recipes and beverage preparation techniques
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle transactions accurately
- Must be able to stand for long periods
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must comply with all health and safety regulations
- Certification in responsible alcohol service is a plus
Job Qualifications
- Bartending experience in a private club, upscale restaurant, or hospitality setting preferred
- Knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, beer, and wine
- Strong customer service skills with ability to engage and build rapport with members and guests
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of state and local liquor laws and responsible beverage service protocols
- Certification in responsible alcohol service (ServSafe Alcohol) preferred
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages including cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks
- Provide excellent customer service to members and guests ensuring a welcoming and friendly atmosphere
