Job Requirements
- Basic education or equivalent
- prior experience in hotel or food and beverage service preferred
- ability to follow health and safety guidelines
- manual dexterity to handle bar supplies and tools
- physical ability to lift and move heavy items up to 150 lbs
- reliable attendance and punctuality
- ability to work varying shifts including nights and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Hotel experience preferred
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- basic mathematical skills
- sufficient manual dexterity to use knives, pick up glassware, scoop ice and tap kegs
- ability to comprehend written product labeling instructions
- ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or move/push goods weighing up to 150 lbs
- ability to perform duties within various temperature ranges
- ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
- guest-focused communication skills
Job Duties
- Retrieves orders from storeroom
- visually checks stock received against written requisition with storeroom personnel to ensure order is accurate
- re-checks items with bartender upon delivery to bar for completeness
- cuts, slices and peels perishable garnishes and fruits
- mixes and pours juices according to projected business
- stores back-up supplies needing refrigeration in prescribed containers
- checks and assists bartender in maintaining adequate amounts of supplies such as stir sticks, napkins, matches
- maintains cleanliness of bar area, beer lockers, refrigeration and storage areas to comply with health code standards
- scoops ice from ice bins, transports to service areas and replenishes ice containers
- boxes and saves empty liquor bottles for later returns and requisitions
- transports taps, replaces and performs routine maintenance on heavy beer kegs
- complies with attendance rules and regular work availability
- performs any other job-related duties as assigned
