Job Description
Marriott International, a global leader in the hospitality industry, is renowned for its dedication to exceptional service and creating memorable guest experiences. Among its prestigious portfolio of brands, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts stands out as a beacon of timeless glamour, sophisticated luxury, and impeccable service standards. Established at the dawn of the twentieth century with the debut of The St. Regis hotel in New York by John Jacob Astor IV, the brand has maintained its commitment to bespoke hospitality, combining classic elegance with modern sensibility. St. Regis is home to more than 50 luxury hotels and resorts worldwide, each dedicated to delivering exquisite experiences and offering signature Butler Service—a testament to the brand's promise of anticipatory and personalized guest care.
As part of Marriott International, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts fosters a diverse and inclusive work environment that values the unique backgrounds, talents, and experiences of its associates. The company is committed to non-discrimination on any protected basis, including disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by law. At St. Regis, associates are encouraged to be their best, begin their purpose, belong to a vibrant and supportive global team, and become the best version of themselves.
The Food and Beverage Server role at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts is a key position within the hospitality team, tasked with providing professional, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service to guests. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a friendly demeanor to ensure each guest's dining experience is memorable and enjoyable. Servers are responsible for cleaning and setting up tables, performing other food service duties, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards throughout the outlet.
The role involves serving essentials such as water, bread, and coffee and greeting guests by name whenever possible, which reflects the personalized service St. Regis is known for. Servers are expected to maintain the presentation of china, glass, and silverware, stack trays properly for efficient stewarding, and ensure all closing duties are executed thoroughly. This includes storing reusable goods, cleaning equipment and areas, restocking items, securing refrigerators, and completing daily cleaning checklists, all while adhering to strict safety protocols.
Employees in this position must follow company policies, safety and security procedures, and report any accidents or unsafe conditions to management promptly. The role also demands maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting company assets, and upholding confidentiality. Effective communication and teamwork are vital, as servers interact frequently with guests and colleagues to support common goals and address concerns in a respectful manner.
Physical demands of the job include the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and perform tasks such as moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects up to 50 pounds. Other physical requirements include fine motor skills for handling objects, and agility to navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery floors as well as stairs or ramps. This comprehensive role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in hospitality without prior experience, as no previous supervisory experience or certifications are required. The position also emphasizes the importance of safety training and ongoing professional development within a global luxury brand environment.
