The role available is that of a Podium Supervisor, a critical leadership position within the restaurant's front-of-house team. The Podium Supervisor supports restaurant managers by overseeing daily operations specific to the Host/Hostess team. This role demands a proactive leader who is highly organized, able to multitask, and prioritize duties under a fast-paced, often high-pressure environment. The supervisor is responsible for guiding the front-of-house team to deliver outstanding guest service from the moment guests enter to the time they leave. This includes managing reservations, seating guests, addressing guest concerns with professionalism, and ensuring all team members uphold Disney's renowned service standards.
A successful Podium Supervisor must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated by an ability to handle guest interactions diplomatically and efficiently. Leadership responsibilities also include coaching and training team members, delegating tasks appropriately, and stepping in as the on-duty supervisor during opening or closing shifts or as needs arise. The pod supervisor oversees the use of Point-of-Sale systems, assists with guest satisfaction, and maintains the host/hostess area in a state of readiness and cleanliness at all times. They also play an important role in food safety compliance, alcohol service regulations, and company policy adherence.
This position requires a minimum of one year restaurant experience and at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to candidates who have previous host/hostess experience and demonstrated leadership skills. Knowledge of Mexican cuisine and beverage service is considered a plus. Certifications in food safety and responsible vendor status must either be in hand or obtained shortly after hire. The role involves physical requirements such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and navigating tight spaces, so physical stamina is important.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of one year of restaurant experience
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three years of previous host/hostess experience preferred
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Previous experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment preferred
- Must have or be able to obtain a State of Florida Food Safety Certificate
- Must have or be able to obtain a Florida Responsible Vendors Certificate
- Must be well versed in food safety including proper techniques for handling food and personal hygiene requirements
- Must be well versed in laws and company practices regarding the safe and legal service of alcoholic beverages
- Must be able to perform all necessary job functions
- Must be able to stand and be mobile for up to 4 consecutive hours
- Must be able to function in narrow spaces such as those found in kitchens and dining rooms
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment/food up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to push and pull carts, doors etc.
- Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, stoop and crouch
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks
- Must be able to complete work duties in a variety of environmental conditions including coolers, freezers, kitchen environments and outdoors
- Must be able to work around foods containing various food allergens
- Must be able to communicate and interact politely and effectively with guests of all types
- Must be able to effectively satisfy guest demands
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to effectively communicate with, train, and coach other team members
- Must be fluent in the English language
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
- Must be able to arrive for all assigned shifts on-time

Job Duties
- Provide guidance, leadership, coaching and training for the Host/Hostess team
- Provide leadership support as needed for the entire front-of-house team, which may include opening or closing shifts as the on-duty supervisor
- Provide leadership guidance and assistance at the Point-of-Sale systems as needed
- Assist with guest satisfaction checks and provide guest recovery as needed
- Delegate tasks to Host/Hostess team as appropriate
- Answer phone in a timely and appropriate manner
- Prepare and maintain Host/Hostess area for guest arrival
