The role of Steward Supervisor at Legends Global is critical for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency within the hospitality and food service departments. This position involves overseeing all stewarding staff who are responsible for the cleaning and storage of all wares in the restaurant, including major equipment. The Steward Supervisor must ensure that kitchens, workrooms, and equipment are inspected regularly for cleanliness and general order. Accountability for effective execution of stewarding duties and adherence to health and safety standards is paramount. The role requires not only strong leadership and organizational skills but also the ability to manage high-pressure situations and work in a fast-paced, interruptive environment. The Steward Supervisor is expected to demonstrate urgency, timeliness, and attention to detail in all aspects of their work while maintaining excellent customer service and confidentiality concerning food and beverage operations.
Candidates for this position must be available to work during event days, primarily on Sundays, but also potentially on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays. The role demands flexibility in scheduling due to extended hours, including late nights, weekends, and holidays. The Steward Supervisor must be well-versed in chemical usage, dishwasher operation, and proper use of trash compactors. Exceptional interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively communicate across all organizational levels and foster a positive and productive working environment. Moreover, this role involves responding quickly and effectively to changing trends and embraces continuous learning and improvement. The Steward Supervisor will also be responsible for managing people and resources efficiently to ensure completion of projects with a resourceful workflow plan. Job Requirements
- CA Food Handlers certification
- CA Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification
Job Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience in a high-volume kitchen area
- Must be able to work long flexible hours
- Must be able to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
Job Duties
- Responsible for overseeing all stewarding staff
- Must oversee the cleaning and storage of all wares in the restaurant, including all major equipment
- Execution of stewarding and dish duties
- Must inspect the kitchens, workrooms, and equipment for cleanliness and general order
- Urgency, timeliness and detail minded in work habits
