Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for 6 to 8 hour shifts
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and wipe
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment and place items on high and low shelves
  • Ability to work in environments with varying levels of heat and noise
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules
  • Must comply with health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a professional kitchen or restaurant line cook role preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to prepare foods by grilling, frying, broiling, and pantry preparation
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and plating instructions
  • Physical stamina to stand for long shifts and perform kitchen duties

Job Duties

  • Meet with chefs to review restaurant assignments, anticipated business levels, and menu changes
  • Complete opening duties including setting up workstations with required tools and inspecting equipment
  • Ensure all requisitions are processed properly and placed in designated areas
  • Organize all prep items needed from different areas to ensure readiness for service
  • Transport supplies from storeroom and stock in designated areas
  • Start and continue prep work on menu items for current and upcoming meal services
  • Assist Master Cook and line staff during service as needed
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
  • Disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and worktables
  • Breakdown workstation and complete closing duties
  • Work as a team assisting guests and employees as needed
  • Communicate effectively with management, chefs, and service staff to address guest and employee needs
