The Reserve Host II (Level 2 Host) position at Biltmore's restaurant operations involves coordinating and overseeing host stand operations to ensure that all aspects of guest service meet Biltmore's high standards. This is a part-time role with a maximum of 999 hours per year, offering a starting pay beginning at $17.09 per hour, commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. The schedule is typically from 3:30 pm to 11:30 pm but can vary based on business needs.

In this role, the Host II is responsible for maintaining an efficient seating flow by managing guest seating across various sections during service hours. The role also includes managing telephone communications and reservations systems, taking and updating requests as necessary. Beyond daily tasks, the Host II provides training and guidance to Level 1 Hosts, ensures that the restaurant environment is properly prepped throughout service periods, and assists with VIP arrangements. The position requires proactive guest service skills, ability to handle guest service recovery situations, and strong communication to liaison between guests and management.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous host service experience
  • Ability to work varied schedule including evenings
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to use reservations software
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to transport up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand or remain stationary for duration of shift
  • Tolerance for exposure to fumes, dust and chemicals
  • Ability to work in variable temperature and noise conditions

Job Qualifications

  • Previous host service experience required preferably in fine dining or upscale restaurant
  • At least one year of related food and beverage experience preferred
  • Commitment to world class guest service
  • Leadership skills a plus
  • Fluency in English
  • Basic math skills with ability to handle cash and credit transactions
  • Familiarity with reservations software preferably Open Table
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong guest service recovery skills
  • Proactive, exercises good judgment

Job Duties

  • Greet and acknowledge arriving guests
  • Escort guests to tables and assist seating
