The company is currently seeking a PM Bartender for the Courtyard by Marriott Tysons McLean. This role is crucial in preparing and serving beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. The position strictly adheres to all health regulations and local liquor laws to maintain the highest standards expected by both the B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group and the brand standards of the Courtyard by Marriott. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating an inviting bar atmosphere that promotes guest satisfaction and repeat visits. The PM Bartender’s responsibilities include greeting guests with warmth and courtesy, efficiently taking and preparing beverage orders, and delivering exceptional service using Point of Sale systems. They must maintain compliance with liquor laws through diligent ID verification and careful monitoring of guest consumption. The role also includes bartending duties focused on cost control, proper equipment use, and recipe adherence. In addition to bartending, the candidate will assist with bar bussing and cleaning duties, manage inventory paperwork, and ensure safety and sanitation standards throughout their workspace.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One or more years of bartending experience
  • TIPS or CARE certification or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to speak, understand, and write English
  • Capability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the shift continuously
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Ability to manage repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One or more years of previous bartending experience or bartender certification
  • Demonstrated exemplary customer service skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to speak, understand and write English
  • TIPS or CARE beverage service certification desired or ability to obtain certification
  • Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as walking, standing and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Accurately take and prepare beverage orders according to standards
  • Operate Point of Sale systems and cash registers efficiently
  • Dispense alcohol and prepare drinks to recipe and brand standards
  • Verify guests’ identification and monitor alcohol consumption
  • Perform bar bussing and cleaning including disposal of garbage and restocking barware
  • Complete all required paperwork including shift inventory and reports
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment complying with health and safety regulations
  • Manage workload by planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks
  • Participate actively in team efforts and attend required meetings
