Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Licensed or certified LPN or LVN in state of assignment
  • Current CPR and AED certification
  • Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Minimum two years clinical or hospital experience
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate equivalent of recognized educational nursing program
  • Currently licensed or certified as LPN or LVN in the state of assignment
  • Current CPR and AED certification
  • Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Minimum two years clinical or hospital setting experience
  • Knowledge of plasma collection industry regulations
  • Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety guidelines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle medical emergencies and donor care

Job Duties

  • Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE)
  • Evaluate donor reactions at the facility following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on unacceptable findings, medical or technical issues including donor safety and eligibility
  • Support employee vaccination programs such as Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu
  • Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health or emergency room
  • Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and support investigations related to pandemic threats
