Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Licensed or certified LPN or LVN in state of assignment
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Minimum two years clinical or hospital experience
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate equivalent of recognized educational nursing program
- Currently licensed or certified as LPN or LVN in the state of assignment
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Minimum two years clinical or hospital setting experience
- Knowledge of plasma collection industry regulations
- Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety guidelines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle medical emergencies and donor care
Job Duties
- Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE)
- Evaluate donor reactions at the facility following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on unacceptable findings, medical or technical issues including donor safety and eligibility
- Support employee vaccination programs such as Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu
- Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health or emergency room
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and support investigations related to pandemic threats
