This position is for a Shredding Specialist, based within Stericycle’s operational team. The role involves managing waste paper shredding processes along with various warehouse support duties. The Shredding Specialist’s responsibilities include receiving, segregating, and loading waste paper into shredding machinery, coordinating the parking of trucks, and ensuring that all operations adhere to safety and security standards. This is a full-time Monday to Friday position on a first shift schedule, beginning at 9:30 am with an 8-hour workday and an unpaid 30-minute lunch. The role offers a pay rate of $17.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly, with opportunities for overtime paid at time and a half, subject to management approval.

As a Shredding Specialist, you will be a key team member who contributes to maintaining a secure and harmonious work environment. The company provides daily uniforms and working boots at no cost. Punctuality, good attendance, and a valid driver's license are strict requirements for this position. The responsibilities also include operating and maintaining baling and shredding machinery, performing forklift operations and maintenance, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the work area in alignment with NAID and company standards. This role requires a committed individual who can handle multiple duties ranging from unloading and reloading trucks to performing regular preventive maintenance and safeguarding plant equipment by adhering to company security policies. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment
  • Good attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to follow safety procedures
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts
  • Ability to wear provided uniforms and boots
  • Ability to perform preventative equipment maintenance
  • Strong teamwork skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred
  • 6+ months experience as a certified forklift driver preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Knowledge of operations in a manufacturing or plant setting
  • Ability to interpret standard and management reports on plant activities
  • Understanding characteristics of a well-run manufacturing plant

Job Duties

  • Unloads shredded paper, media, and products from trucks at the assigned branch
  • Reload trucks with equipment needed for the next day’s assignment
  • Operates and maintains baling machinery
  • Ensures all paper bales are staged or loaded for shipment
  • Performs shredding operations supporting off-site shredding programs
  • Safeguards plant hardware and equipment by locking and activating security systems
  • Operates forklifts and performs preventative maintenance on them
  • Maintains a clean and safe working area according to standards
  • Cleans truck compartments and cabs nightly
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment
  • Maintains supplies for plant operations
  • Follows safety and security policies and reports concerns
  • Performs other assigned duties
