As an established entity in the industrial sector, Vernet US focuses on delivering superior products while ensuring a safe and clean working environment for its employees. The company operates with a strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion, actively encouraging candidates from all backgrounds to apply and contribute to a dynamic and supportive workplace.
The company is currently seeking a dedicated Plant Custodian to join its Maintenance Department on a part-time, non-exempt basis. The role involves a 30-hour work week from Monday through Friday, reporting directly to the Production Manager. The Plant Custodian will play a crucial role in maintaining the facility's cleanliness, safety, and organization, ensuring that all assigned areas meet the company’s rigorous standards.
The Plant Custodian is responsible for a range of cleaning and maintenance tasks that support the efficient operation of the plant. Key duties include managing cleaning chemicals safely, conducting thorough cleaning of high-traffic areas such as the Front Office, Lobby, Restrooms, and Breakrooms, and adhering to all OSHA safety protocols. Additionally, the custodian will handle waste disposal, manage company resources responsibly, and ensure the facility environment remains welcoming and safe for all employees and visitors.
This position offers a 90-day orientation period, allowing new hires to acclimate to the company's standards and expectations. Vernet US values reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently, and it seeks candidates who exemplify these traits. Though this role does not carry supervisory responsibilities, the custodian's work is integral to the smooth functioning of the facility.
Ideal candidates will bring 1 to 2 years of experience in custodial or cleaning services coupled with a High School Diploma or GED. The ability to operate cleaning equipment like vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners is essential, as is knowledge of proper safety practices including the use of PPE and compliance with OSHA regulations. Strong verbal communication skills are needed to report issues and coordinate with other staff effectively. Proficiency with intermediate skills in Outlook, Word, and Excel also supports various administrative tasks related to the role.
The physical demands include standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects for extended periods, reflecting the active nature of this position. Safety is paramount at Vernet US, requiring employees to wear ANSI standard safety glasses when in the plant and to follow strict safety and hazard communication guidelines. The company prides itself on its safe work environment, emphasizing injury prevention and ergonomic practices.
Joining Vernet US as a Plant Custodian provides a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a clean and safe industrial facility while developing one's skills in a supportive and forward-thinking environment. The company encourages applicants who are committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and safety in their work environment, ensuring every corner of the facility reflects Vernet US’s dedication to excellence.
