Job Description
Taymax Group, LP is a prominent and rapidly growing multi-unit franchisee of Planet Fitness, one of the largest and fastest expanding fitness club operators in North America. With ownership and operation of over 175 clubs across diverse regions including California, Texas, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and multiple provinces in Canada, Taymax Group has positioned itself as a leader within the fitness franchise industry. Supported by Trilantic North America, a New York-based private equity firm managing substantial capital commitments, Taymax demonstrates consistent double-digit growth annually and has been recognized repeatedly for excellence with awards including Developer of the Year and Franchisee of the Year. The company’s corporate headquarters is located in Salem, New Hampshire, and operates under a mission to provide accessible, high-quality fitness experiences within welcoming, non-intimidating environments known as Judgement Free Zones.
The role available is for a Club Manager at one of Taymax Group’s Planet Fitness locations in Rialto, California. This full-time management position comes with a competitive pay range of $23.00 to $23.50 per hour and is central to ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the gym. The Club Manager will be responsible for overseeing all facets of gym operations, aiming to deliver extraordinary member experiences while also ensuring the financial success of the club. This role requires a committed leader who can cultivate a positive and motivating environment for a team including Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
The primary duties entail recruiting, hiring, and training staff to maintain a high performing team, underscored by a culture of superior customer service and adherence to Planet Fitness core values. The Manager is expected to lead by example, maintaining a visible presence at the front desk to engage members and guests personally, handle member requests and resolve any issues effectively. Operational responsibilities include scheduling staff shifts, processing payroll, managing disciplinary actions where necessary, overseeing marketing initiatives, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the club facilities. Additionally, they will oversee financial responsibilities such as authorizing expenditures, refunds, and handling bank deposits.
This position demands a dynamic individual capable of balancing administrative functions with hands-on leadership. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and planning skills are essential, in addition to the ability to work independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate will have experience managing customer-focused teams within the fitness or similar industry, possess robust conflict resolution skills, and exhibit an enthusiastic, energetic management style.
Physical demands include continual standing, walking, talking, and listening, with requirements for lifting up to 50 pounds and performing bending, crouching, and reaching regularly. The role also occasionally involves exposure to cleaning chemicals. A valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and reliable transportation are mandatory.
Joining Taymax Group means becoming part of a company dedicated to diversity, inclusion, and employee development. The company values individuals from all backgrounds and perspectives, fostering an environment aiming at enhancing people’s lives through fitness. Taymax Group offers an inclusive and supportive culture committed to equal opportunity employment and accommodations for candidates with disabilities.
Applicants should be mindful of hiring fraud scams and adhere to Taymax Group’s legitimate hiring processes that never require upfront payment or sensitive personal information early in the application process. Only candidates under consideration will be contacted, reflecting the company’s professional and respectful approach to recruitment.
