Hayden Homes Amphitheater, located in Bend, Oregon, is a premier outdoor live event venue that hosts hundreds of thousands of guests each concert season. The Pizza Line Cook position at Hayden Homes Amphitheater plays a critical role in the success of their newly launched pizza program. This program emphasizes rapid, consistent, and high-quality pizza production to accommodate the demands of live concerts. Working in an outdoor kitchen, Pizza Line Cooks prepare 10-inch personal pizzas, managing the workflow efficiently using specialized equipment such as quad stack, propane-fueled pizza ovens and organized prep stations. The role demands precise attention to food quality, safety, and timing to meet the high standards required during peak service times.

This role offers an hourly wage starting at $18 with the added benefit of participating in a shared food and beverage tip pool, where previous seasons have seen average tips of approximately $18.60 per hour. The position is seasonal, running from mid-May to early October, with shifts varying in length from 4 to 8 hours depending on event schedules. Beyond technical cooking skills, the role requires a positive and adaptable attitude, teamwork orientation, and the ability to maintain high energy and focus despite fluctuating volume and sometimes challenging outdoor conditions. Employees must be comfortable working in variable temperatures and weather and capable of performing physical tasks such as standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items.

Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a valid Food Handler’s Permit
  • Possess previous pizza cooking experience or equivalent high-volume line cook experience
  • Be capable of maintaining high food quality and safety standards
  • Be physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to perform repetitive motions including lifting, reaching, bending, and stretching
  • Be willing to work outdoors in temperature extremes and around open-flame cooking equipment
  • Have availability from mid-May through early October
  • Be available to work show days and possible training shifts on non-show days

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Food Handler’s Permit required
  • Previous pizza cooking experience required or high-volume line cook experience with strong transferable skills
  • Ability to execute food consistently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of kitchen flow, timing, and station organization
  • Team-first mindset with a positive, flexible approach to working within an established system
  • Ability to stay focused and maintain pace during peak service periods

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook pizzas according to established recipes, portioning, and quality standards
  • Operate pizza ovens safely and efficiently, managing cook times and product flow
  • Support high-volume production by maintaining consistent output during peak service
  • Assist with crust handling, topping preparation, and restocking during service
  • Monitor product levels and adjust production to support demand while minimizing waste
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of pizza stations, equipment, and shared kitchen areas
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen protocols at all times
  • Communicate clearly with kitchen leads and teammates to support smooth service flow
  • Support pre-service setup and post-service breakdown of the pizza station
  • Be a champion for venue sustainability and waste diversion efforts
  • Follow all Hayden Homes Amphitheater kitchen and safety protocols
