Job Description

Hayden Homes Amphitheater is a premier outdoor concert venue known for hosting a diverse and dynamic range of live events each season. Designed to accommodate hundreds of thousands of guests, the amphitheater is committed to delivering an unparalleled entertainment experience through its exceptional food and beverage services. The venue emphasizes sustainability and operational excellence, standing out for its highly efficient and environmentally conscious food and beverage program, which has been nationally recognized for waste diversion. The amphitheater operates seasonally, from mid-May through early October, embracing the challenges and unique conditions of outdoor event production, including extreme weather elements and diverse natural surroundings. Employees at Hayden Homes Amphitheater are part of a collaborative and passionate team that prioritizes professionalism, adaptability, and a positive work environment.

In line with the venue's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, the new pizza program has been introduced as a key component of its food and beverage offerings. This program is designed specifically to produce delicious, quick, and consistent 10-inch personal pizzas in a high-volume setting. The pizza menu is intentionally small and streamlined to maximize production efficiency and maintain consistent quality during busy concert events. The outdoor kitchen operates with specialized equipment, including a quad stack, propane-fueled pizza oven, complemented by prep tables and warming stations that support rapid pizza preparation and service.

The role of Pizza Line Cook at Hayden Homes Amphitheater is a vital position within this innovative food service operation. Pizza Line Cooks are responsible for managing the entire pizza production process during events, ensuring each pizza meets established standards of quality and consistency while maintaining safety and sanitation protocols. Given the high-volume nature of the events and the outdoor working environment, this role demands a strong focus on speed, accuracy, and adaptability to fluctuating demand. It requires managing crust preparation, toppings, cooking times, slicing, and boxing pizzas efficiently to sustain rapid service output throughout the concert.

Success in this role depends not only on culinary skill but also on interpersonal traits such as teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude. Pizza Line Cooks must collaborate effectively with kitchen leads and peers, respond well to feedback, and remain focused under pressure. Employees must be willing and able to work outdoors, sometimes in challenging weather conditions, standing for extended periods, and handling physically demanding tasks. This position offers hourly pay at $18.00, plus participation in a shared food and beverage tip pool, which has averaged approximately $18.60 per hour in past seasons.

In summary, Hayden Homes Amphitheater offers an exciting, fast-paced seasonal opportunity for individuals passionate about food service and live event production. The Pizza Line Cook role is perfect for those with prior pizza or high-volume line cooking experience looking to contribute to a vibrant team and gain valuable experience in a unique outdoor kitchen setting. The employer values diversity, inclusivity, and equal opportunity, welcoming candidates from all backgrounds to apply and be part of its renowned event experience.
