The Pizza Cook role at IRHG offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals eager to specialize in high-quality pizza and related dishes while developing a varied skill set in artisan cooking methods. As a Pizza Cook, you will be responsible for maintaining exemplary quality standards, working diligently to ensure every dish delivered meets the restaurant's rigorous standards for consistency and perfection. Your role will extend beyond pizza preparation to include mastering homemade pastas, artisan breads, and cooking techniques involving wood fire grills and ovens. Additionally, this position introduces you to whole animal butchery, which broadens your culinary expertise and technical skills. Your daily responsibilities will include preparing food items with precision, respecting portion sizes, and adhering strictly to kitchen policies and sanitation standards mandated by health authorities such as the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). The role demands a hands-on approach to maintaining cleanliness, properly stocking food products, and following detailed presentation guidelines to ensure every plate served not only tastes excellent but also looks appealing. Job Requirements
- A minimum two years experience in kitchen preparation and line cook experience
- Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
- Basic food cost knowledge

- Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and restaurant employees

Job Duties
- Willingness to learn how to make homemade pastas and bread on a daily basis
- Interested in learning how to cook with wood fire grills and ovens
- Interested in performing whole animal butchery techniques
- Accurately and efficiently prepare the highest quality cuisine for our guests
- Compile consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies
- Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
- Adhere to all Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) regulations for cleanliness and sanitation
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, saute burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment
- Prepare items for broiling, grilling, frying, sauteing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or maintaining
- Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes
- Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods
- Close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations
- Assist others in closing the kitchen
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement
