The role of Pizza Cook at Erewhon Market is an integral position within the Culinary Team that directly contributes to the smooth operation of the kitchen and café. This is a hands-on role requiring expertise in preparing pizza dough, sauces, and various toppings using fresh and high-quality ingredients. The Pizza Cook is responsible for monitoring pizza oven temperatures and cooking times to uphold the company’s exacting food quality standards. Working closely with the Culinary Manager and supporting other kitchen staff, this role ensures all food preparation adheres to sanitary and safety guidelines, maintains inventory levels, and supports efficient kitchen workflows. As a Pizza Cook, you will also engage in side work duties, opening and closing responsibilities, and assist with storing incoming supplies properly.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods and lift 30lbs regularly
  • Must be flexible to work nights and weekends based on business needs

Job Duties

  • Work closely with the Culinary Team and support cafe operations
  • Understand Erewhon brand and café menu fully
  • Prepare pizza dough by hand stretching, sauces, and various fresh toppings
  • Monitor pizza oven temperature and cooking times
  • Prepare high-quality pizzas according to company recipes
  • Monitor inventory and place orders for supplies as needed
  • Clean workstations and ensure utensils and equipment are sterilized before use
  • Assist in preparing and cooking other food items in compliance with quality standards
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as directed by Culinary Manager
  • Complete end of day inventory and adhere to company checklists and procedures
  • Maintain proper food temperatures and storage
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area, equipment, and coolers
  • Assist team with incoming orders and proper storage
  • Operate basic kitchen equipment
  • Follow proper knife safety procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
