The role of pizza/line cook at Hardywood is an exciting opportunity to be part of a thriving culinary team within the brewery’s dynamic setting. This position is crucial in maintaining Hardywood’s reputation for exemplary food quality, swift service, and exceptional guest interactions. Pizza/line cooks operate under the direct supervision of the Kitchen Manager and focus on preparing a diverse and sophisticated menu that includes gourmet pizzas, fresh salads, baked desserts, and catering selections such as charcuterie boards for special and private events. Cooks are expected to execute precise culinary techniques to ensure consistency and high presentation standards that align with the brewery’s brand image.

Working at Hardywood requires culinary professionals who thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while maintaining a keen eye for detail and quality. Cooks will also participate in pop-up kitchen events within the outdoor beer gardens at Hardywood’s Richmond or West Creek locations during warmer seasons, enhancing the hospitality experience for guests. Job Requirements

  • Strong oral communication skills and ability to work well in team environment
  • Previous restaurant, catering, or bakery experience is a plus
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Physical ability to remain on feet and lift 40 plus pounds during shifts up to 10 hours
  • Must be able to work in fast paced, high volume establishment while retaining attention to detail
  • ServSafe Certification is beneficial but not required

Job Duties

  • Achieve the objectives of Hardywood’s hospitality program to delight customers with exceptional food, beverage, and service experiences
  • Maintain consistently high quality products through proper technique and adherence to recipes
  • Operate and maintain professional grade equipment in an open kitchen environment focusing on cleanliness, organization, and presentation
  • Prepare a range of offerings with a seasonal and locally driven menu including pizza, salads, baked desserts, and catering options
  • Host occasional pop-up kitchen events in outdoor beer gardens at Hardywood’s Richmond or West Creek breweries during Spring, Summer, and Fall
  • Demonstrate eagerness to learn and grow in culinary field with opportunities for advancement
  • Help maintain proper inventory levels of food ingredients and kitchen supplies
  • Provide guidance, training, and oversight to other kitchen team members as needed
  • Report to the Kitchen Manager and assist with additional tasks throughout the brewery as needed
