As a Pitmaster/Kitchen Manager at Mighty Quinn's BBQ, you will embody the brand's ethos and lead the kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience. This full-time position plays a critical role in day-to-day restaurant operations, bridging the gap between food preparation and guest satisfaction. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of food production, quality assurance, and employee management within the kitchen. Your responsibilities will include maintaining strict adherence to the company's recipes and safety standards, managing inventory and vendor relationships, and assisting the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery.

This position offers competitive pay ranging from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, reflecting the significance of the role in sustaining the restaurant's reputation for excellence. You will be part of an energetic team dedicated to maintaining a clean, safe, and productive work environment, fostering open communication, and encouraging staff development. The schedule includes a mix of day and night shifts with 10- to 12-hour shifts, covering weekdays and weekends to meet operational needs.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of cooking experience in a sous chef role or similar culinary position, preferably with exposure to cook-chill systems. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and a culinary degree is preferred, alongside a Serve Safe certification. Physical stamina and the ability to handle the demands of a busy kitchen environment, including lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods, are essential.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary degree preferred

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and food cases
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Strong physical stamina
  • Ability to follow recipes and maintain quality standards

Job Duties

  • Assist the GM in overseeing the restaurant operations, monitoring production output and food costs
  • Work daily with GM to upkeep restaurant
  • Ensure accurate recipe execution of all recipes
  • Maintain ongoing proper food inventory levels
  • Follow company guidelines on vendor relationships
  • Assist with ordering and maintenance of all food and paper inventories, and the FIFO process
  • Provide a safe sanitary work environment that conforms to all DOH standards and regulations
  • Supervise and participate in production and preparation to ensure consistent quality product
  • Interview, hire, schedule, train, develop staff, resolve problems, provide open communication, recommend discipline as appropriate
  • Maintain and develop schedules for maximum efficiency
  • Upkeep and maintenance of all kitchen equipment through proper and immediate reporting of service needs
