Job Requirements

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Meet residency requirements of at least three of the last five years
  • Hold required FAA Class 1 or 2 medical certification dated within the last 12 months
  • Be at least 37 years old at the time of application with possible waiver up to 40 years
  • Pass CBP mandated training programs
  • Willingness to travel and relocate as required by operational needs
  • Provide proof of veteran's preference if applicable
  • Submit detailed flight logs for verification
  • Meet age and physical standards for federal law enforcement positions

Job Qualifications

  • Possess FAA Commercial or ATP Pilot Certification with appropriate instrument ratings
  • Have minimum flight hours including 1500 total, 250 as pilot-in-command, 75 instrument, and 75 night hours
  • Equivalent military pilot certification accepted with official documentation
  • Experience flying in various conditions including night and poor weather
  • Ability to evaluate and make rapid decisions during flight operations
  • Proficient in using information systems and databases for intelligence gathering
  • UAS flight experience considered an asset

Job Duties

  • Conduct air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities to interdict smuggled contraband
  • Monitor behavior patterns and activities of suspect persons, vehicles, or vessels engaged in illegal operations
  • Collect, refine, and analyze strategic and tactical intelligence
  • Support search and rescue and humanitarian missions
  • Operate aircraft as pilot-in-command in challenging environments
  • Coordinate with ground assets and other agencies during law enforcement missions
  • Maintain compliance with flight and safety regulations
