Job Description

Southern Tire Mart is a premier commercial tire dealer recognized as the largest in North America. This family-owned and operated company has built a strong national presence by consistently providing top-tier tire products, including premium brands and high-quality retread tires. Southern Tire Mart prides itself on fostering a culture centered around safety, growth, and exceptional customer service, which has driven its continued success in the tire and automotive supply industry. The company’s commitment to employees and customers alike is demonstrated through its comprehensive benefits packages, training programs, and opportunities for career advancement. As a notable player in the logistics and automotive market, Southern Tire Mart values professionalism, reliability, and a dedication to safety standards throughout its operations.

The role offered is that of a Delivery Driver, a crucial position responsible for ensuring timely, safe, and efficient transportation of tires, wheels, and automotive parts to customer locations. This position requires operating company vehicles that range from light to heavy-duty trucks based on the driver’s license and experience. The Delivery Driver is tasked with more than just driving; they will actively participate in loading and unloading items weighing up to 100 pounds, using proper safety techniques to prevent injury. A successful candidate will be dependable, professional, and courteous, representing Southern Tire Mart’s customer-first philosophy during every delivery. Maintaining accurate records in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations is also a key responsibility, ensuring each delivery meets operational and legal standards.

This position offers flexible work schedules that include potential evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, with overtime as necessary. While a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is not mandatory for most delivery roles within the company, it may be preferred for those operating larger vehicles. Beyond driving and delivery duties, the role also supports inventory management tasks such as stock organization and cycle counts, enhancing overall warehouse and delivery efficiency. Delivery Drivers collaborate closely with service technicians by transporting tires to and from service calls or job sites, further supporting company operations in the field.

Southern Tire Mart’s Delivery Driver role is well-suited for individuals with strong time management abilities, clear communication skills, and the physical capability to manage heavy loads safely. Prior experience in delivery driving, especially within tire, automotive, or logistics sectors, is advantageous but not strictly required. The company invests in on-the-job training to equip employees with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in their roles. With a competitive compensation package and robust benefit offerings including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with company match, Southern Tire Mart provides a promising career path for motivated delivery professionals committed to excellence in their work.
