Job Description

Lowes Foods is a well-established supermarket chain known for its commitment to fresh, local, and high-quality products. Operating primarily in the southeastern United States, Lowes Foods emphasizes providing an exceptional shopping experience through customer engagement, product quality, and community involvement. The company prides itself on its innovative approach to grocery retailing, focusing on fresh and healthy options, seasonal selections, and supporting local producers. Lowes Foods values team members who embody friendliness, efficiency, and a passion for excellent guest service, helping to create a welcoming atmosphere for all customers.

The Pick & Prep Associate role at Lowes Foods is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic environment where they can showcase their culinary and customer service skills. This position involves preparing Pick & Prep products and delivering product preparation services designed to engage customers through sensory experiences such as tasting and storytelling. The associate will actively interact with guests by offering samples, sharing information about product benefits including freshness, healthfulness, seasonality, and local sourcing, and demonstrating knife showmanship skills to highlight the services available at the Pick & Prep station.

In this role, associates will operate the Pick & Prep area following strict merchandising and operational standards to maintain the high quality expected by Lowes Foods. Responsibilities also include ensuring product quality, maintaining sanitation and safety throughout the department, performing various tasks such as receiving, ordering, stocking, merchandising, and exceptional guest service. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively with others, and a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with customers. Associates will also be involved in making public announcements and performing any other duties assigned by management to support the department’s overall success.

This role is vital in creating a unique shopping experience where customers feel valued and informed about the products they purchase. The position demands physical stamina to lift products and stand for long periods, alongside the flexibility to learn multiple technical tasks related to product preparation and customer interaction. Lowes Foods encourages team members to embrace fun and creativity in their approach to guest engagement, fostering a positive and memorable environment for everyone visiting the store. Working as a Pick & Prep Associate offers a rewarding chance to develop skills in food preparation, merchandising, and customer service within a supportive and community-focused company environment.
