Job Description
This opportunity is with a highly respected clinician-owned group practice located in Portland, Oregon, the largest women’s health care organization in the state. This facility provides comprehensive women’s healthcare services including obstetrics, gynecology, perinatology, midwifery, and genetics across multiple clinical locations in the Portland metropolitan area. The practice is well-supported by various in-house departments such as IT, a CLIA-certified laboratory, billing, financial counseling, risk management, compliance, human resources, and marketing professionals, ensuring that clinicians can focus primarily on patient care and professional development.
The group is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician to join their current team starting in 2024. The group currently includes five MFM physicians, three genetic counselors, and sixteen sonographers performing over 20,000 ultrasounds annually. This provides a robust clinical environment fostering collaboration and advanced patient care. The ideal candidate will be joining a team dedicated to delivering exceptional, evidence-based care while maintaining a positive work-life balance.
This full-time, permanent position offers a four-day work week with a projected one in six night home call frequency. The physician will cover two hospitals supported by an integrated obstetrics hospitalist inpatient coverage team. An important aspect of the role is the ability to maintain delivery privileges, performing scheduled deliveries, with an option for unscheduled deliveries if preferred. The practice serves a diverse patient population in a private practice setting nationally recognized for clinical efficiency and innovative process optimization.
Clinicians at this facility benefit from practicing within a global health system structure that provides a provider-guided administrative support infrastructure including contracting, human resources, IT support, and billing. The group values consensus-based clinical standardization and regular meetings facilitate consistent and excellent clinical practice. Working alongside referring providers, subspecialists, hospital administrators, and industry partners ensures a comprehensive and collaborative care model.
In addition to clinical practice, there are opportunities for involvement in leadership, quality improvement, practice transformation, health information management, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, and other strategic projects. The facility also supports continuing education through a perinatal and ultrasound educational lecture series, publications, and supplemental clinical project funding. Furthermore, after three years of employment, there is an opportunity for the physician to become a part-owner of the practice, providing a unique chance for professional growth and partnership.
The comprehensive benefits package includes medical, prescription, vision, and dental insurance coverage, generous paid time off and holidays, employer-paid life and long-term disability insurance, substantial 401(k) contributions, CME allowances, malpractice coverage, and additional perks. This package ensures both personal and professional well-being.
Portland, Oregon, offers an attractive lifestyle with a vibrant mid-sized metropolitan atmosphere. The city is celebrated for its thriving culinary and restaurant scene, rich performing arts culture, abundant outdoor and active lifestyle options, and unique proximity to wine country, mountains, and the coast. Safe and walkable neighborhoods with excellent schools make Portland an ideal place for professionals and their families to live and thrive.
