Job Requirements
- Graduate from accredited Physician Assistant program
- Successful completion of NCCPA examination
- PA state licensure mandatory once admitted to the program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days
- Ability to safely perform assigned job tasks with demonstrated skills
- Proficiency in English necessary for patient and employee safety
- Willingness to become proficient in surgical assisting and endovascular procedures
Job Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited Physician Assistant program
- Successful completion of NCCPA examination
- Proficiency in English language communication
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and team members
- Demonstrated skills and competencies to safely perform assigned job duties
- Knowledge of endoscopic vein harvesting, vascular surgery assisting, and endovascular procedures
- Strong interpersonal and therapeutic communication skills
Job Duties
- Provide patient care in the CVICU during morning rounds
- Develop treatment plans and document daily progress notes
- Conduct pre-operative evaluations with surgeons and order diagnostic studies
- Use therapeutic communication to collaborate with patients, families, and health care teams
- Provide first and second assist in cardiac and vascular surgeries
- Assist in complex endovascular procedures
- Perform quality and safe diagnostic, surgical, and therapeutic procedures
- Advocate for patients and families to resolve clinical and ethical concerns
- Attend educational conferences, labs, and lectures to develop cardiac surgery skills
- Manage time effectively and prioritize daily tasks independently
