Job Description
Jostens is a renowned leader in the student commemoration market with over 125 years of legacy serving local communities nationwide. The company proudly partners with thousands of K-12 schools, colleges, and universities each year, as well as with beloved sports teams and distinguished organizations across the United States. Known for producing iconic products such as yearbooks, letter jackets, class jewelry, and championship rings, Jostens plays a vital role in keeping meaningful traditions alive. Their products not only celebrate milestone moments and accomplishments but also help people tell their unique stories in a memorable way. Operating from 13 first-class facilities worldwide, including North America and the Caribbean, Jostens combines a rich history with modern innovation to serve educational and sports communities effectively.
Now, Jostens is offering an exciting opportunity for a Seasonal Photo Team Manager position based in Seattle, WA or surrounding areas. This role is a hybrid position that combines remote work with onsite duties at various school locations, running from June through November, with a potential extension into December depending on event schedules. This seasonal role provides an average of 30+ hours per week with overtime options during peak periods, alongside competitive pay at $30 to $32 per hour, full-time status with eligibility for healthcare benefits, and a paid training program.
The Photo Team Manager will oversee and inspire a dedicated team of photographers to capture unforgettable school moments for K-12 students and their families, managing all aspects of school photography operations. Responsibilities include logistics coordination, scheduling, equipment management, team training, and direct leadership to ensure smooth and efficient photo day events. This leadership role requires strong organization, communication skills, and a hands-on approach, sometimes necessitating travel within the assigned hub and participation in peak photography days as a photographer or event lead.
Training is provided through a three-day paid "Train the Trainer" session at JostensPIX Headquarters in Minnesota, supplemented by virtual training to ensure readiness. The manager will coordinate local training sessions and partner with training specialists to support new hires throughout the season. They will manage equipment storage, scheduling, and the overall operational flow, partnering with HR to interview and hire photographers and overseeing expense approvals and team communications.
Ideal candidates bring proven leadership experience managing teams in fast-paced environments, a four-year degree or equivalent experience in customer service or general business, exceptional communication skills, tech-savviness, physical stamina to handle equipment, and flexibility to accommodate early mornings, evenings, and travel demands. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are essential, along with the ability to comfortably engage with students of all ages and maintain a professional appearance in representing Jostens. Reliable communication access is also required for coordination with the team and clients.
Jostens values employee success, offering a supportive and fun work environment, competitive compensation with a DailyPay option, travel reimbursement for time and mileage, comprehensive healthcare benefits including health, dental, and vision coverage, and a 401K plan with immediate vesting. They actively support diversity, inclusion, and accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act and encourage applicants from varied backgrounds.
Overall, the Seasonal Photo Team Manager role at Jostens promises a fulfilling leadership opportunity in a respected company with a vibrant team culture and meaningful work capturing cherished memories for students and their communities. The position emphasizes growth, teamwork, operational excellence, and a passion for photography, making it ideal for leaders ready to make an impact in a dynamic, seasonal setting.
