Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- basic cash handling experience
- knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- ability to type at least 35 words per minute
- strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise and accurate work
- ability to handle confidential information sensitively
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
- ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 20 pounds
- availability to work on-site only
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- basic knowledge of cash handling and balancing procedures
- working knowledge of HIPAA compliance principles and practices
- proficiency in business English, spelling, punctuation, and math
- skill in using modern office machines
- basic keyboarding speed of 35 WPM
- ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse individuals and groups
Job Duties
- Calculate charges for patient visits and prescriptions
- receive payments by cash, checks, and credit cards
- collect outstanding amounts owed by patients
- balance end-of-day visit report and cash drawer
- issue receipts and maintain copies for balancing
- work as a member of a team with medical office, pharmacy, and clinic staff
- participate in quality assurance efforts
- explain and review work procedures with work-study students, volunteers, or employees
- assist with medical records or secretarial support as required
- perform related duties as directed
