Job Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English except in Puerto Rico
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to pharmacy protocols
  • Commitment to completing Walgreens Pharmacy Technician Training Program if not already certified
  • Ability to work under supervision and as part of a team
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a retail environment preferred
  • Basic math skills including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
  • Good computer and pharmacy system skills preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • PTCB certification preferred but not required initially
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Knowledge of store inventory control preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions accurately
  • Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience including greeting customers, resolving issues, and offering assistance
  • Support pharmacy operations including filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, managing inventory, and handling clerical duties
  • Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and adhere to quality improvement programs
  • Assist in clinical services such as collection of blood/urine samples and coordination with healthcare providers
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Pharmacy Department as well as compliance with all company policies and procedures
