The role of Tech I, Nuclear Pharmacy at Cardinal Health is pivotal in supporting the delivery and management of radiopharmaceuticals which are critical in diagnostic and therapeutic applications in healthcare. Nuclear Pharmacy is a highly specialized branch responsible for providing radioactive drugs to medical professionals while adhering to stringent State and Federal regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for individuals interested in a career in pharmacy technology with a focus on nuclear medicine. The Tech I in Nuclear Pharmacy works closely with pharmacists and experienced staff to assist with the preparation and operation of the pharmacy, ensuring all procedures meet regulatory compliance and quality standards. The role involves assisting in the daily cleaning and maintenance of the facility, performing equipment and quality control checks, processing customer orders for timely medication delivery, and helping in administrative tasks that foster smooth pharmacy operations.

This is a full-time position typically scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm with a requirement for flexibility based on business needs. The hourly pay for this role is $18.50, and while the position is not bonus-eligible, Cardinal Health offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the overall health and wellbeing of employees. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Pharmacy technician registration preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
  • Ability to manage weight up to 75 pounds
  • Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving company vehicle
  • Flexibility to work different shifts
  • Comfortable working in a nuclear environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Previous experience working as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
  • Pharmacy Technician registration strongly preferred
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred
  • Past IV experience is a plus
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Manual dexterity required for occasional reach, lifting and holding of small objects
  • Demonstrated manual dexterity in order to dispense doses
  • Ability to manage weight up to 75 pounds
  • May require vendor credentialing
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required (Class E Missouri driver's license or equivalent preferred, or able to obtain)
  • Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicle
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones and tablets
  • Flexibility to work various shifts
  • Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks
  • Comfortable working in a nuclear environment

Job Duties

  • Assist pharmacist and other pharmacy staff in preparing facility for daily operations through cleaning, equipment and quality control testing
  • Follow standard operating procedures to facilitate ongoing pharmacy operations
  • Collect and process customer orders to ensure efficient communication and timely delivery of medications to patients
  • Perform administrative pharmacy tasks, answer questions and assist customers to facilitate pharmacy operations and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain pharmacy safety through following and recording completion of daily infection control procedures
  • Take direction from other pharmacy techs to develop skills and knowledge of pharmacy operations
  • Assist dispatchers and drivers in preparing packages for delivery and occasionally make deliveries using company vehicle
