Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • basic math and computer literacy
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • attention to detail and accuracy
  • willingness to comply with company policies and state/federal regulations
  • PTCB certification or willingness to obtain
  • prior retail or pharmacy experience preferred but not required
  • collaborative and customer-focused attitude.

Job Qualifications

  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English except in Puerto Rico
  • willingness to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends
  • six months of retail experience preferred
  • prior Walgreens employment preferred
  • good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions
  • good computer skills
  • knowledge of store inventory control
  • PTCB certification preferred.

Job Duties

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience
  • registers sales on assigned cash register and provides courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service
  • assists the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, including using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions
  • engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering product assistance while resolving issues
  • models and shares customer service best practices including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits
  • provides friendly and efficient service by recommending items and processing transactions including voids, returns, and exchanges
  • maintains clean and well-merchandised counters and shelves, takes inventory, and checks in merchandise as directed
  • performs pharmacy-related duties including filling prescriptions, verifying medicine accuracy, reporting errors, and adhering to policies
  • handles telephone calls not requiring pharmacist attention, including those to physicians
  • processes manual prescription claims timely
  • supports inventory management activities including ordering and stocking pharmaceuticals
  • ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products
  • constructs and maintains store displays and assists with product placement and stock rotation
  • operates store systems and equipment
  • provides customer service in the photo area and manages web pick-up orders
  • assists with store maintenance and cleanliness
  • complies with company policies and maintains respectful coworker relationships
  • completes special assignments as required
  • earns and maintains PTCB certification and attends training to acquire continuing education credits.
