As a key member of the pharmacy leadership team, the pharmacist will act as a liaison across various hospital and medical staff committees, coordinate educational programs, and oversee departmental initiatives to enhance pharmaceutical services. Responsibilities include human resource management, financial oversight, patient care support, regulatory compliance, and program development. The pharmacist will lead efforts to optimize medication use, improve patient outcomes, and ensure adherence to joint commission standards and other regulatory requirements. Job Requirements

  • Completion of an American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited residency program
  • three years hospital pharmacy environment or equivalent healthcare setting
  • two years leadership experience
  • California Pharmacist License - CA State Board of Pharmacy
  • ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of an American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited residency program
  • three years hospital pharmacy environment or equivalent healthcare setting
  • two years leadership experience
  • California Pharmacist License - CA State Board of Pharmacy

  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Act as a department liaison
  • coordinate and provide educational inservices and information presentations
  • oversee staff development including newsletters and mentoring
  • organize agendas for Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
  • participate in medical staff advisory groups and multidisciplinary teams
  • manage human resources including performance appraisals and employee records
  • achieve financial outcomes by maintaining budgets and assessing expenditures
  • coordinate the design and implementation of pharmacy programs
  • track and report improvements and cost reductions
  • support pharmacy management in communications with financial officers
  • provide input to pharmacy management status reports
  • assist in selection, development, and analysis of pharmacotherapy programs
  • provide and coordinate formal needs-based education and certification
  • assist in meeting all regulatory compliance requirements
  • demonstrate cooperation and leadership by example
  • develop and oversee staff training, residency program, and experiential education
  • maintain competency programs that meet accreditation standards
  • lead quality outcomes and prepare for Joint Commission reviews
  • develop and implement policies and procedures
  • maintain compliance with regulatory and legal requirements
