Job Description
Sidekicks Stay & Play, located in Amarillo, TX, is a passionate and dedicated pet care facility founded in 2021. The company was established to help pets live happier and healthier lives through enrichment and exceptional care. Sidekicks Stay & Play prides itself on cultivating an environment where the well-being of the team is paramount, as this directly translates to superior care for their clients’ pets. The culture is deeply rooted in respect, growth, and creating positive experiences for everyone who walks through their doors, whether human or furry. This commitment has positioned Sidekicks Stay & Play as a trusted name in the pet care community, emphasizing compassionate, high-quality service.
The role of Pet Care & Client Concierge at Sidekicks Stay & Play is a full-time opportunity designed for individuals who are reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented. This job marries the hands-on aspect of pet care with excellent client service, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and thrives in a team setting. Unique among many pet care jobs, Sidekicks allows employees to bring their own pets to work, creating a welcoming atmosphere for animal lovers.
As a member of the Pet Care & Client Concierge team, you will have a variety of responsibilities that ensure both pets and their owners receive outstanding service. The position involves rotating duties between guest care and front desk operations. On the guest care side, you will monitor pets in playgroups, provide enrichment activities such as playtime and administering medication, ensure the health and comfort of the animals, and maintain clean and safe play suites. On the front desk side, your responsibilities will include greeting clients warmly, checking pets in and out, answering client questions, assisting with scheduling services, creating estimates, collecting necessary forms, and maintaining an organized client database.
A typical day could range from feeding and watering dogs and cats to taking and uploading photos for client report cards, assisting with baths or grooming prep, and keeping the lobby and play areas tidy and inviting. You will also be expected to communicate proactively and maintain a positive, problem-solving attitude. This role averages between 35 and 45 hours per week, with shifts varying from early mornings to late evenings, including rotating weekends and holidays. Compensation is competitive, ranging typically between $10 and $14 an hour, depending on experience and availability.
Moreover, this position offers excellent long-term potential for career growth within the Sidekicks and Swann Animal Clinic family. For those interested in advancing in animal care, client relations, or leadership, a variety of pathways are available, including opportunities to work in veterinary medicine. Candidates who bring dependability, empathy for pets and people, and a willingness to learn will thrive in this dynamic and fulfilling role.
