Job Description

Dinner Elf is a unique and compassionate platform that connects professional chefs with families in need of delicious, home-cooked meals during special times such as after a baby arrives, illness, injury, or any period when extra kitchen help is needed. Operating primarily in Denver, Boulder, and the surrounding areas, Dinner Elf empowers culinary professionals to reshape their cooking careers by providing flexibility, meaningful connection, and the joy of cooking without the stress of traditional kitchen roles. The company prioritizes the well-being of both its chefs and its customers, creating a community of big-hearted chefs who share their talent with families needing support at critical moments.

At Dinner Elf, you will experience a refreshing change from stressful, inflexible, or monotonous cooking jobs. The platform allows chefs to control when and where they work, offering the freedom to set availability and cooking geography that fits their lifestyle. The role is part-time, focusing on a Monday to Wednesday schedule, with up to three appointments per day. This arrangement is ideal for chefs looking to supplement income or balance other culinary pursuits later in the week, such as catering or restaurant work.

As a Dinner Elf chef, your main responsibility is to provide a magical in-home meal experience by preparing three nights of home-cooked dinners for each customer. This includes grocery shopping, cooking in the client’s kitchen, and cleaning up afterward, creating a welcoming environment where families can enjoy nutritious, comforting meals during challenging or busy times. Each engagement lasts about 2 to 2.5 hours, allowing you to focus on the craft of cooking and customer care without the overwhelming demands of a commercial kitchen.

The platform enhances customer relationships by enabling chefs to build a small, consistent client base, fostering strong connections and personalized service. Chefs delight in offering kid-friendly backup options alongside favorite dishes, making dinner time easier and more enjoyable for their families. Dinner Elf’s affordable, semi-custom cooking service broadens your reach, connecting you to a diverse clientele that appreciates quality and care in their meals.

With competitive pay starting at $25 per hour, Dinner Elf offers a low-stress work environment where you can perfect your culinary skills while making a genuine impact in your community. This role is perfect for chefs who consider food their love language and want to cook with joy and purpose, not stress. Chefs must have at least two years of professional cooking experience, a passion for customer service, and the ability to work a part-time schedule consistently throughout the week.
