Job Description

Green Thumb Industries (GTI) is a leading company in the cannabis industry, known for its comprehensive approach to cultivating and providing high-quality cannabis products. As a well-established entity in the retail cannabis space, GTI focuses on promoting well-being through the power of cannabis. The company emphasizes humility, hard work, gratitude, transparency, collaboration, and a growth mindset as core values driving its success. GTI is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace that celebrates people across different backgrounds and experiences. The company takes pride in supporting communities disproportionately affected by the war on drugs through employment and community engagement initiatives. GTI operates in multiple locations and continuously strives to maintain a positive customer experience in all its dispensaries.

The Personal Care Specialist role at Green Thumb Industries is an ambassadorial position designed for individuals passionate about helping patients and customers in a retail cannabis setting. Those hired for this position engage in one-on-one interactions from the moment patients or customers enter the store until they complete their purchases and exit. The ideal candidate is friendly, upbeat, and knowledgeable, much like a barista in a favorite coffee shop, who can expertly guide clients through product selections and consumption methods tailored to their specific needs. This role requires mastery of the dispensary’s menu and the ability to build rapport with each visitor, ensuring they receive a safe, effective, and personalized cannabis experience.

Personal Care Specialists are responsible not only for assisting customers with product recommendations but also for educating them on safe consumption practices and the effects of various products. They uphold a positive and communicative work environment and assist in ensuring compliance with local and state cannabis regulations. The position includes a blend of front-of-house duties such as check-in, sales floor management, and operating point-of-sale systems, as well as back-of-house responsibilities that cover inventory counts, receiving shipments, and maintaining store cleanliness and safety standards. A key expectation is supporting management to ensure that retail operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Working at GTI as a Personal Care Specialist means becoming part of a mission-driven team dedicated to wellness, service, and professional integrity. The role requires candidates to be at least 21 years old and pass all relevant background checks, including those specific to cannabis industry employment. While prior cannabis experience is not mandatory, there is a strong preference for candidates with at least one year of customer service experience, particularly in specialty retail. Flexibility in scheduling, reliable attendance, and the ability to perform physical tasks such as moving inventory and standing for extended periods are essential to success in this role.

Green Thumb Industries offers competitive pay starting at $18 per hour, with the potential for additional incentives based on performance. The company emphasizes professional growth and continuous learning about cannabis, cannabinoids, and therapeutic applications, helping employees expand their knowledge and expertise in the evolving cannabis market. This position is an excellent opportunity for customer-oriented individuals who value a collaborative, transparent workplace and want to contribute to the well-being of their communities through responsible cannabis retail.
