Job Description

The position available is for a Personal Care Attendant at a residential care facility. The role involves creating a nurturing home for residents and providing care and services to meet their needs within an environment of hope, dignity, and love. The Personal Care Attendant works cooperatively with residents, coworkers, families, medical staff, visitors, and volunteers to maintain a positive environment through personal care, housekeeping, home maintenance, food preparation and service, activities, recordkeeping, and financial management.

Job Requirements

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED preferred, prior experience in a human service or health care setting preferred, completion of the SJU CNA Course within 6 months from hire date, and certification within 120 days of class completion. Knowledge and skills acquired through completion of Elder Sharath training, certification as a nursing assistant, completion of Abuse Training, and required training in Serve Safe, food preparation, basic nutritional guidelines, household financial management, housekeeping, infection control, and light maintenance. Essential skills and abilities include good writing, verbal, and observation skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and exceptional organizational abilities. The position requires functioning independently, problem-solving, timely response to residents' needs, and adherence to established procedures with the ability to identify and address problems or concerns within the team.
