Job Requirements
- Valid food handler's certificate
- ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification for cooks, preferred for dietary aides
- Minimum 6 months experience in healthcare, long-term care, or high-volume commercial kitchen
- Ability to follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and meal schedules
- Must pass background check, drug screen, and provide current immunizations including TB test
- Able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in hot, fast-paced environments
- Dependable, team-oriented, and able to follow instructions
- Food preparation, cooking, and food handling experience
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience
- Culinary background
- Strong knife skills
- Knowledge of HACCP, safe food handling, cross-contamination prevention, and FIFO
- Experience in menu planning
- Knowledge of dietary department operations
- Familiarity with catering and serving
- Food safety certification is a plus
- Experience as cook in long term care or assisted living facility is a plus
- Legal authorization to work in the USA
- Willingness to undergo background check, drug screening, and immunizations

Job Duties
- Prepare and cook quality food for meal service according to standardized recipes
- Follow menus as provided
- Schedule and prepare foods for special functions as planned
- Occasionally serve food
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes
- Handle and store ingredients and food
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
